What is Google Ads?

Google Ads is Google's online advertising platform that allows businesses to show ads across Google's ecosystem, including Google Search, YouTube, Gmail, Google Maps, Discover, and millions of websites in the Google Display Network. Unlike traditional advertising, Google Ads lets you target users based on their intent. For example, someone searching for "best CRM for small business" is actively looking for a solution, making them much more likely to convert than someone passively scrolling through social media. Google Ads supports multiple campaign types, including: - Search - Performance Max - Shopping - Demand Gen - Display - Video - App - Local (through Performance Max) The platform operates primarily on an auction system where advertisers bid to display ads, but winning isn't determined solely by bid amount. Google also considers ad quality, relevance, expected click-through rate, landing page experience, and other quality signals. When managed correctly, Google Ads can generate measurable revenue, leads, phone calls, app installs, and offline sales while providing detailed performance data for optimization.
